Independent buying guides for one-bag carry-on travel

How We Research One-Bag Travel Gear

How One Bag Picks chooses products, builds reference charts, keeps guides current and handles corrections.

What we are

One Bag Picks is a small independent one-bag travel site. We are not owned by a retailer or brand, and no company pays to be included or to rank higher in a guide.

We earn a commission when you buy through some of our links, which is how the site is funded. It never changes the price you pay, and brands cannot buy a spot in our guides.

How we choose products

Every buying guide starts from a job to be done: the problem a reader is trying to solve, the space they have and the budget range that makes sense. We shortlist products that fit that job, then compare them on published specifications such as dimensions, materials, capacity and compatibility.

We favour listings that state the numbers you need to judge fit, and we leave out products with unclear or missing specifications. Where a product type has a common fit problem, such as sizing that runs small or parts that are not cross-compatible, the guide tells you what to check.

We do not claim to have lab-tested every product we list. Where a recommendation depends on a measurement, we say what to measure and why, so you can confirm the fit yourself.

How we build charts and references

Our reference charts collect typical values from manufacturer specifications, recognised standards and established references, and we link to outside sources where they exist. Charts show typical ranges, not guarantees for a specific product, and each one notes when it was last reviewed.

Keeping pages current

Prices and availability change daily, so we do not print prices in guides; check the current price on the retailer page. Guides and charts are reviewed on a rolling schedule, and discontinued products are replaced when we find them.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, an out-of-date spec or a broken link, email hello@onebagpicks.com. We fix confirmed errors and update the page.
