What we liked
- + 0.1 micron absolute filter weighs just 2 ounces and fits in the palm of a hand, so it adds almost nothing to a carry-on
- + Kit includes two 32 oz BPA-free pouches that roll up tightly, a drinking straw, hydration pack adapters and a mesh storage bag
- + Works several ways: drink straight from the filter, squeeze into a bottle, thread onto 28 mm bottles or run it as a gravity system
Trade-offs
- - It is a filter with soft pouches, not a rigid bottle, so drinking on the move takes more handling than a filter bottle
- - The listing covers bacteria, protozoa, cysts and microplastics but does not claim virus removal, which matters in some destinations
