Dopp kit
A small pouch or hanging bag used to organize toiletries like a razor, toothbrush, and skincare items while traveling.
A dopp kit is a small zippered pouch or hanging toiletry bag used to keep grooming and hygiene items organized and separated from clothing inside a larger travel bag. The name comes from an old brand of the same product, but today it is used generically for any compact toiletry organizer, regardless of who is packing it.
Hanging versions have a hook so the kit can be clipped to a towel rail or the back of a bathroom door, which is useful in small hotel or hostel bathrooms with little counter space. Flat, non-hanging versions pack down smaller and are often preferred by minimalist one-bag travelers who do not carry a full-sized wash kit.
When choosing a dopp kit, check whether the lining is water resistant, since a leaking bottle inside a fabric bag can ruin nearby clothing, and consider how many compartments you actually need versus how much unused space you would be carrying. A common mistake is buying a large, structured dopp kit built for checked luggage, which takes up disproportionate space in a single carry-on bag.
