One-bag travel
Traveling with only one carry-on sized bag as your entire luggage, skipping checked bags and often a separate personal item too.
One-bag travel means fitting everything you need for a trip, from clothing to electronics to toiletries, into a single bag that fits airline carry-on limits. Most one-baggers use a backpack in the 30 to 45 litre range, though some use a duffel or a wheeled carry-on instead. The goal is not owning as little as possible for its own sake, it is being able to move through an airport, a train station or a rental car without checking anything or waiting at a baggage carousel.
The appeal is speed and flexibility. You walk straight from the plane to the taxi line, you never worry about a bag getting lost or damaged, and you can change plans on short notice because everything you own for the trip is already on your back. It also forces some discipline about what you actually use, since every item has to earn its place by weight and volume, not just by convenience.
Getting started usually means picking one bag that meets your airline's size limits, choosing clothing that can be worn several times between washes, and packing tech and toiletries in a way that keeps the whole load light enough to carry comfortably for a full day. Common mistakes are choosing a bag that is technically within size limits but uncomfortable to wear for hours, or packing for worst case scenarios instead of the actual trip.
